The First Batch of Xbox One Backward Compatible Games Announced

Xbox One backward compatability

104 titles confirmed.

Back at this year's E3, Xbox announced that they would be bringing backward compatibility to the Xbox One. They promised that when it launched they would have over one hundred available titles. After E3, a backwards compatibility list was set up, but has seen little change since reaching about thirty games.

Today, the complete lineup arriving on November 12 for Xbox One backward compatibility has been announced. The list includes notable games from the last generation like Borderlands, Fable II, Just Cause 2, Assassin's Creed II, and all of the Gears of War games. However, there are a few notable absences; the second and third most requested titles, Red Dead Redemption and Skyrim respectively never made the launch-day list.

But there's good news if you don't something that you've been requesting on Xbox Feedback, Mike Ybarra's blog post on Xbox Wire also mentions that this is only the beginning of what is to come. More games will be announced on a regular basis starting this December. Some of the upcoming titles include Halo: Reach, Halo Wars, all three Bioshock titles, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Skate 3. Xbox One gamers will also be able to play all of the Xbox 360 Games with Gold titles from November 12 onward as these will also be coming to backwards compatibility.
