Electronic Arts showed off more of Mass Effect: Andromeda at its EA Play conference earlier today including what looked to be in-game action. Check out the trailer above to see more tantalizing glimpses of the game.

There were some familiar species on show too, including Asari and Krogan. However, developers Bioware have stressed that Mass Effect: Andromeda is a completely separate story to the original trilogy, so don't expect to see any characters from the previous games.

Andromeda is set to have a greater focus on exploring uncharted worlds and encountering new species like the hulking half-rhino half-gorilla alien that the protagonist shoots. This is the scene that most looks like it could be in-game.

EA has said more information about Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released this Fall ahead of the game's release next year.
