Unless you bought a copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order a few years ago chances are you weren't involved in Doom's closed beta. Well, do not despair because Bethesda have announced an open beta for the game.
The beta will run from April 15 to April 17 and will give PS4, Xbox One and PC players the chance to try out the multiplayer ahead of the game's full launch on May 13.
Team deathmatch and Warpath are the two modes available and they can be played on the Heatwave and Infernal maps.
Bethesda used the open beta announcement to talk about the games DLC plan for the year after release. As well as user generated maps and game modes using SnapMap -- a free creation tool -- Bethesda will release new game modes at no extra charge. In terms of paid for content Bethesda have plans for three packs, the first of which will feature:
- Three new maps
- One new weapon
- One new playable demon
- One new armour set
- New hack modules and taunts
- New customization colours and patterns
Presumably the subsequent two DLC packs will have similar content and there is no talk of any additional single-player content. The DLC packs will be priced at $14.99 each, but they'll also be available as part of a season pass, priced at $39.99.
