Activision have officially confirmed Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the next chapter in the beloved Shooter series. The game -- developed by Infinity Ward -- is slated for worldwide release on November 4 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Watch the reveal trailer below.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will see the return of what Activision describes as a "classic, epic battle of two armies unlike anything seen before" in an entirely new Call of Duty environment. For the first time ever in the franchise, players will travel to outer space to take on a new, ruthless enemy. The game's core campaign will put you, the player, in the shoes of Tier 1 Operations pilot Captain Reyes, the commander of a warship leading a team of soldiers to victory.
The immersive campaign includes stunning visual landscapes, new weapons, and abilities, taking players into "boots-on-ground" combat to piloting high speed space-fighters. Infinity Ward have created a "seamless experience with few visible loading times" to provide players with memorable Call of Duty action.
Naturally, it wouldn't be Call of Duty without its pinnacle multiplayer. Activision says Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will feature an "evolution of Call of Duty's movement system with an emphasis on front-line engagement." Furthermore, for the first time ever Infinity Ward have included a cooperative Zombies mode that boasts a new story with "unique" gameplay features and mechanics. More details on both multiplayer and Zombies will be announced at "a later date."
As an added bonus, one of the most popular titles in the entire Call of Duty series, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, has been remastered and will be included with most editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will allow die-hard fans to jump into retro mode to play this classic once again, complete with "vibrant visuals" for current-gen systems, improved texture resolution, high-dynamic range lighting, shadowing VFX particles, revamped animation and sound, plus more. Campaign missions from the original game include All Ghillied Up, Charlie Don't Surf, and Crew Expendable. The multiplayer portion will feature 10 "fan-favorite" maps from the game -- like Crash, Backlot and Crossfire -- along with killstreaks, XP and Prestige mode.
Infinity Ward are serving as executive producers of the remaster, with Raven Software developing.
