Naughty Dog has announced that two new multiplayer maps will be available for The Last of Us Remastered.
The announcement comes as both an apology and a thank you to fans, as Naughty Dog are aware of problems with connectivity issues since The Last of Us Remastered was released just a few weeks ago. Many players have been experiencing very long waiting times to enter matches, with the only solution so far to "exit matchmaking and select 'Find Match' again."
Part of a blog post reads:
"We know this can be frustrating and the team here at Naughty Dog wants everyone in our community to know that working on this issue continues to be our number one priority."
"We're glad to say that we've decided to release these two maps for free on both the PS3 and PS4 in appreciation for all of your continued patience as we work to resolve the matchmaking issues."
LiveUpdates and Patch 1.02 have already been implemented to try and ease matchmaking issues, which have resulted in some significant improvements. However, Naughty Dog acknowledges that there is still more to be done to limit the waiting times.
