PlayStation 4 owners will finally be able to pre-load games starting June 24, when Edge of Reality's new game, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, is released.
The fact to remember here is that pre-load doesn't mean you get to play the game early before release. What it actually means is that players who pre-order digital titles from the PlayStation Store will be able to download and install the game and any updates a few days early so they are ready to play when the game goes live. There will be a countdown timer included showing when exactly that will be.
The other games available to pre-order now that will have this feature include Battlefield Hardline (Standard & Deluxe Editions), Bloodborne, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Destiny, Dragon Age: Inquisition (Standard & Deluxe Editions), Far Cry 4, InFAMOUS First Light, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, LittleBigPlanet 3, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, The Order: 1886, and last but not least, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
All you have to do to pre-load the games is leave the console in Standby mode so that it can download them automatically when they become available. Sony has also announced that this feature will be available on PS3 orders too.
