Actor Dan Haggerty has passed away after battling cancer for the past few months. He died early this morning (January 15, 2016) at his home in San Fernando Valley, CA. He was 74 years old.
According to TMZ, Haggerty's doctors discovered the cancer after he had back surgery. Following that, Haggerty underwent treatment at the hospital, but then recently told his son that he did not have much time left, prompting his son to inform family and friends to pay their final respects.
Haggerty was best known for his role as the hefty bearded mountain man Grizzly Adams in the '70s TV show The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams. He also made guest appearances on several other hit '70s and '80s TV shows such as CHiPs, Charlie's Angeles and The Love Boat.
The tragic news comes following the recent passing of several others inside the last two and a half weeks. Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmister, David Bowie, actor Alan Rickman and Celine Dion's husband, René Angélil, all died of cancer.
